I guess this was too subtle for the average DPC voter? Personally I think this should have placed much higher, the atmosphere of this image is so beautiful...so refined.

I don't care for either the lighting or the focus. The reflection of the light source in the silver cup? in the back (and center of the photo) draws so much of my attention that it makes the whole picture seem out of focus. Maybe if you had lit the orchids or the candle instead?? (or focused on the shiny silver cup)?

I think you could really improve on this shot with (1) some improvement in the lighting and (2) some adjustment to the levels in post processing to create some more contrast.

This would have popped more for me if the flowers were brighter and the candle was lit. :)
