Challenge: Self Portrait IV (Advanced Editing IV*)
Camera: Sony DSC-F717
Location: Waterlandkerkje, The Netherlands
Date: May 18, 2006
Aperture: F/2,8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Snapshot, Self Portrait
Date Uploaded: May 18, 2006

I had no time to set up anything fancy, so I just took a reflection of me in a window.

Editing in PSP:
cropping, layers, lightening/contrast, a little NI to get rid of noise, darkened a bit.

I think I get hammered for not being sharp.

It is very difficult to connect with the subject of this photo.

nice mix of indoor and outdoor. the muted colors and "unsharpness" set a mood. I'll meet you at the bottom of the scores pile! but personally, I'm giving you a 7.

reminds me of a photo Imogen Cunningham did in a store window. except she was a little old lady when she did it... Self Portrait on Geary Street.

Neat idea...I might have bumped up the contrast, though.

I don't believe it, Titia! Interesting concept. I think for what it is, it's sharp enough. I would like to see the colors bumped up with a bit more depth. I like your use of the edge (risky here, but I LIKE IT!)

This is a cool idea. The reflection definitely adds some interesting textures...I think I would have cropped it just above the camera, though.

Great idea - the reflection gives a really ghostly effect.

I think this works well for me bacause of the border you used. It echoes the reflection and overall image. Good work! 7

Sorry but the horrible image quality is the hugest drawback with this image, hard to give it a good score. Just too washed out and flat and no details to speak of. No offense intended of course, just wanted to explain the low rating I gave you.
