Yellow is a bright, cheerful color, often associated with happiness and peace.

This was a shoot taken on the final night right out side my town on a farm that my friend owns.
Hard to get the focus correct but it turned out ok in the end. Not sure how I should have the colors, bright or wased-out like I have had in my last few entrys.
top20 is what I am hoping for at least higher then 5.8 in score.

Used single Bowens 500 flash to light and used some dodge and burning for effects and finaly I sharpened the whole thing.

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: Great focus and great use of your WB and post-processing to capture wonderful colors and great detail. The overall image feels like it has a slight tilt to the right, most noticeable at the body of water.

Lighting: Excellent! Great lighting, and a near flawless use of flash to get nice detail from the background and sky, as well as everything in the main subject area.

Composition/Content: While the various colors and your choice of background make for a terrific photo, there is not enough of you in the frame for the challenge at hand. I think a tight crop with you on that great background would have served this challenge much better.

My Opinion: You met your goal for this photo, but I think that the potential of your setup held a much higher score. Great lighting and a wonderful scene choice definitely pulled the score well up, but a tighter crop would have made it even better.

A great example of messing up the title I'm afraid...

It would have done much better if it had said:

Meaning of life is driving an air-cooled VeeDub!

Yellow is clearly optional!

Heh just kidding... I like the shot... I recently picked up a couple pairs of riding glasses, one in yellow and one in blue... I like the blue one for daytime and the yellow one for night time...

The blue in the daytime makes me feel happier because it turns a cloudy day into a sunny day with blue skies... The yellow one at night makes everything more interesting and seem brighter...

I agree with others that as a potrait, this could have had a much tighter crop to really put focus on you...

At first glance, this image didn't speak to me. But after looking at it for a second, I keep finding new things I like about it! Excellent photo indeed!

Nice photo of the VW Beetle but it draws away from the subject matter the portrait of the person. Photo would better serve without the person in the Picture. Focus should have been on person, but the person is slightly out of focus. Nice color contrast.

I think this would be more striking is you were back against the garage door, not connecting with the camera. It would have a larger purpose. As it is, it's too much of a posey-posey self portrait.

Interesting scene. I like the contrast between the lemon yellow bug and the garage - the sky is great. I wonder how this would have looked if you, as the model, were closer to the camera...Nice picture.

A very nice setting, well photographed. This picture does bring out the question: do you define yourself by your car? I agree it is a gorgeous restoration.

Looks like a neat place! I think I would like to see you standing a bit more in the foreground. You're too far away!

Really good color and details, but is this about you or the car? Something that I noticed is that my eye keeps traveling out of the photo because it is drawn to the water then mountains then sky. Maybe a tigher crop with just the garage in the background.

cool shot, nice colours

Nice photograph, but the focus is more on the VW than you. Car is sharper, brighter, etc. Great otherwise.
