Was a pretty simple setup with a black cloth in the background and a simple light from the left , otherwise the matchsticks would've been much too dark. Was shot in manual mode, picked the best settings as to not blow the highlights and not get the image too dark.

PS work: Noise reduction, Levels, Shadow/Highlights, Saturation. and very minor cloning to the match on the left. Photo was sharpened after being resized. The image was not flipped just cropped.

Tried this unique frame hoping it would balance out this somewhat unusual composition.

Went with the posted one because I thought it had more originality and interest. In any case, I'm glad I posted it :)
Cant be sure how the other one (outtake) would've been perceived.

Nice macro of something difficult to photograph. I know - I tried it myself! The border on top and bottom pulls me away a bit from the subject.

THE FLAME CONCEPT BURNING ON THE THE OTHER MATCH IS A GREAT CONCEPT SOME OTHER ENTRIES HAD THIS CONCEPT INVOLVED IN IT. THIS IS GREAT AND THE TITLE IS GREAT
