This has the potential for a great photo. But to realize the potential, one would have to set up the shot and have a model pose. It's interesting how snaps of life as it passes by one can lead further into the creative process. The lad is pretty happy and looks good too. Might be hard - but not impossible - to emulate in a posed shot. |

::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
First Impression - the most important one:
Great capture .. this epitomises success to me.
Composition:
This is ok ... you have him place squarely on thirds .. and its just a natural type of shot.
Subject:
as mentioned above meets the challenge ... and does with total determination.
Technical (Colour and light):
Natural works best ... often .. and here works great. The focus is a little soft .. but it is hard taking candids and harder when they are moving ... maybe a fast shutter speed would have helped - but not sure ...
To grow its vote?:
I would have tried a tighter crop .. the person on the left and the car are both destractions.
Summary:
this worked ok .. you are learning and applying what you learn ... good work.

I think cropping in tighter would help. |

focus seems soft and the composition could have been more interesting. good candid, though. |
