The sunrise(set?) is a little blinding, a filter over the lens may have helped and made the shot less overwhelming. Otherwise, great composition! Still getting a good score.

A little overexposed to me..
07/21/2002 01:25:00 AM
Very picturesque. The lighting is so soft and pretty. The only thing I would change is the sun being so indistinct and blowing out that little section. Otherwise, it's just perfect.

very good use of contrasting colors
07/20/2002 09:47:00 PM
Needs a little less exposure to leave some detail/color in the sky.

The color of the sunligth is beautiful (what you an see on the steps) it would have been interesting to see more of it pointing on to a nother direcction, witout looking at the sun itself.

Light was not controled very well here
07/19/2002 12:33:00 AM
don't like the halo from the sun.. Over exposed too.
07/18/2002 06:28:00 PM
omposition is good but the sky and contrast are weak.
07/18/2002 12:17:00 AM
This would've been an awesome photo if not for the overexposed sun and lake!
07/17/2002 07:45:00 PM
there is a great picture here return again and again
07/17/2002 01:47:00 PM
Nice shot, you could have framed the sunset with the pole by going down the steps a bit. Not sure how that would have looked, though. 8

Erm. Whitby is an East coast town!!!.....?
Sunrise possibly!!
Other than that....beautiful!!
07/17/2002 11:32:00 AM
I would have taken this exactly pic just few minutes later. but I think it a great shot even without the sunset
07/17/2002 11:17:00 AM
Your sunset is lost due to overexposure. Nice location. Don't be afraid to set your camera on manual and keep trying. If you dont have a full manual setting, learn how to 'force' your camera to see the settings differently.
07/17/2002 03:28:00 AM
color correct to remove the red hue.
07/16/2002 10:46:00 PM
Good picture but the sun is washed out....
07/16/2002 09:20:00 PM
find the glare on the lense distracting
07/16/2002 04:31:00 PM
Lens flare can add to pictures and ruin them. Shame.
07/16/2002 02:09:00 PM
i like the lense flair
07/16/2002 01:05:00 PM
Shot too early, a few min.more and the sky wouldn't be blown out.
07/16/2002 12:09:00 PM
I like the way the stairs lead me into the void in the photo... It makes me want to see what is around the corner :) The lens flare and the sun hot spot add s nice effect to this image.. You did a great job to NOT let that blow out the rest of the image.. .good work! = 7 - jmsetzler

Nice shot. You might get a bit more dramatic sunset effect if you lower the gamma a bit
07/15/2002 09:16:00 PM
Very nice composition. This looks like a place I would like to visit. You might consider a bit more contrast. Good job.
07/15/2002 06:56:00 PM
You really needed a polarizer filter on this one. That would soften the bright light of the sun and make the color so deep and rich.
07/15/2002 05:55:00 PM
Beautiful shot. Not certain if I like the red circle around the sun or not. The rest of the photo is really nice. 8 Swash
07/15/2002 01:57:00 PM
Almost. The light is a little to blinding.
07/15/2002 01:25:00 PM
Good picture, great composition. Would have been one of my favorites if it didn't have so much flare fron the sun.
07/15/2002 11:46:00 AM
Just a very good composition with wonderful DOF and light. Nice shot!! Kee
07/15/2002 11:08:00 AM
I like how the stairs lead down in the image, and the nice lighting on them. The glare from the sun detracts a bit from the otherwise very good shot though.
07/15/2002 08:44:00 AM
This is about as please to look at as it is to stare into the sun. You should have waited until the sun was either behind a cloud or below the horizon and then taken this picture. There are some beautiful colors in the bricks and the roofs of the houses.
07/15/2002 06:33:00 AM
Nice.
07/15/2002 01:32:00 AM
Nice composition. pretty scene. a well used gnd filter to help balance the sunset with the stairs could have turned this into a much higher score. also may have helped eliminate the red ring around the sun.
07/15/2002 12:34:00 AM
This is a good shot--would be really great if it weren't for the lens flare *6* --balynch
