 Put one halogen lamp inside a styrofoam ice chest.
Place black cloth over top and then poked hose into the top of the ice chest. I then cut these hollow things from the ditch by my house and place them into the holes. Turned out all lights except the lamp inside the ice chest and shot in raw. Not much editing, just a little -utilizing the color temp in PS raw editor.

I let the light exit a little from the back of ice chest for the blue background. I think straws would look very cool also.

Although a complimentary color, the red border does not compliement this otherwise cool looking image.

Great DOF and focus...love the glowing green too against the blue background - very complimentary. As for the subject matter - it just doesnt appeal to my style and preferences.

The glowing green works great on the blue background. I don't know how you set this up, but I would have liked to see the upfront "asaparagus" lit up more like those on the left.
