He looks hungry, is that why they keep him in the cage? I love the expression and I like the way the facial features are not compromised by the fence. Good color & clarity. It does have some artistic qualities to it, but I donĂ¢€™t think I would buy it to display it unless he was my child. |

Do you always keep this kid in a cage, or was it only after he lost his right hand? :P A clean face tends to up the vote and being on the same side of the fence might help. good try. 3 cthenk |

I'd crop a little tighter, esp. off the bottom. Or you could crop into a vertical frame. Pretty good job framing the anatomical details in the holes in the fence; could maybe be a little lighter and sharper. |

This is a cute snapshot but compositionally uninteresting. There's nothing here that keeps the attention of someone who doesn't know the child. |

Just a snapshot, try to organize his hands position, reduce background ( make it out of focus), have a better light on subject... |

Dowesn't seem to convey much of a message. |

fence pattern is distracting; depth of field to focus either on child or fence? |

Good for the family album but as a contest contribution? |

I like the expression on his face and the fact that you took it from his eye level (or just below). It may be cropped a little too closely at the top, and it seems kinda flat to me. |

nice use of the fence. Lighting so-so. |

This came out a little too snapshotish for me (not a bad thing). If you could have gotten an angle that had foliage where we see house in the lower right, I think that would have helped a lot. The lines of the fence are very promising and the expression on his face is priceless :) Also the crop is kind of close to the top of his head. This could have benefited from the "rule of thirds" as well. Look in the forums to a great link that JM put up. Your lucky to have access to such a great model :) ~Qyl~ |

Snapshots of kids arent that visually interesting, unless you have an emotional attachment to the kids. Next time, maybe show the subject in such a way that conveys your emotions about him orher. |

I'm not sure that the fence is adding anything here... I would have also tried for a vertical orientation possibly... = 6 - jmsetzler |

Well Tyler, with the look on your face i'm glad you're on the other side of that fence. Looks like this snapshot has a slight blue ting, was it an overcast day? Try fideling with white balence if your camera has this feture, or play with a touch of red/green in post processing. |

It's a decent enough shot, but the boy's expression and the fense are not all that appealing. 5 Swash |
