Challenge: Beatles Song/Lyrics (Advanced Editing IV*)

In the woods near my home. I have wanted to put this tree into a challenge for a while now. This challenge is not a best fit but it will have to do. This is the first entry with my E-20. This entry is pretty much last minute so not much editing, blurred edges, boost color and contrast, size and thats it (not even cropped), should have cloned out some branches but no time.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Technicals/Setup:
Good light and color. What you kept in focus looks sharp so good job there.

Subject/Composition:
The subject is an interesting one for the challenge. I think it fits well with the song even with the trespassing sign there. In fact I think it helps not hurts the image. Besides, the spot you are standing could be your place not the actual private land.

The composition is good. I like the main tree were it is positioned and the other group of trees to the right. The two help frame the path you are headed. The skinny branch/tree is really the only thing I don't like. It divides the image so I'd think about cloning that out.

Post Processing:
I like the saturation treatment. Also, the blur gives it a nice dreamy look but for me I rather you left it out.

Suggestions for Improvement:
I think you pretty much know what needs to be improved. You mentioned removing some of the clutter and that's really the only thing I see that would benefit this image.

Thanks for the positive thoughts Steve, I appreciate the positive reinforcement. All too often it seems that these challenges are taken far too literally. I was happy with the quality and feel of this image. I'll keep plugging away and maybe get a shot one of these days that appeals to the masses.

Using a new formula....
0-2 Meets the Challenge = 2
0-2 Technical Merit = 2
0-4 Interest/Creativity = 2
0-2 The "wow factor" = 0
Final score: 6

I'm a little confused by the meaning of this image. The song lyrics go "there is a place where I can go" The image suggests to me that there is a place where I CAN'T go. 6

I love the tech you used here. It looks so dreamy and surreal. I don't think the signs on the tree adds anything though. They're more of a distraction/don't fit.

Nice interpretation of the song.

I like the soft dreamy processing, but the no trespassing sign doesn't fit too well with "there's a place where I can go" IMHO.
