I love this pic... I don't find the background distracting at all actually, as some others have suggested. I love the metal cleats on the bottom of his shoes and it leads me to wonder whether he is a dancer. There's something so incredibly real about this. Would not change a thing about it. |

I'm glad I checked your profile periodically or I'd have missed this shot.
I'm pretty sure you did some serious post-editing on this one - and that's what I liked most about this photo - it is so pleasing to look at. Subject is natural and that is a good thing (refreshing compared to modelled shots). Nice work, Richard.

The sense of desolation and abndonment is really evident in this image. Love your new "style" of post processing dude. |

CPTdos, ayos!
Very funky PP, Richard! Yeah, I like the darkness of this.
Also, great take for the challenge. I'd un-crop a bit from the right side, but all in all, it's a great photo.
I'd've woken up the guy, were I you, and ask if he's sleepy. Hehe. |

Greetings from CTP2 Gunnsi
First impression
You met the challenge and still going within top 20.
Good picture of a tired man. You met the challenge. Good focus, good placement/angle and rules of thirds. This is a beautiful benche (seat) and that gives you some points.
What can you do better
Ask him to move his left foot a bit :-) it sort of hangs there.
Sorry I can't give you any suggestions on making this better. |

hi from ctp2:
Another good finish! This fit the challenge nicely, and is also a nice candid. The reflection in the glass right behind the man is a little distracting. I really like the lighting, though, and the way the man's white shirt contrasts with the dark surroundings. |

Greetings from your own critique club.
Once again, absolately stunning. Yanko, you are on roll. Want to share your secrete now??
First Impression
Very Nice candid shot.
Composition:
Perfect composition.
Subject:
Very nice, meets the challenge.
Technical (Colour and light):
Color and lighting is very good. Processing is very nice.
Improvement:
Only thing I can think of is the improvement in the BG. Just wondering if it was possible to ake it from different angle to change the BG.
Summary:
Over all very nice porcessing and image.
Cheers!!

Hi Richard -
For being a shoehorned entry, you certainly found a good title. Fitting and not overused throughout the field of entries.
One thing I've noticed here is that DPC voters do hate dark, processed images, except when it looks like a draganizer action. We probably have Joey to blame for bringing that style into vogue here.
Whatever you did put the photo through, it has retained really nice clarity and texture. |

Hello from Ãlex, CTP MkII
First Impression: What a week, my friend, two shots with more than 6.5 and both on top 20. Impressive job. I hope you don't decide to abandone us now that you're on the top...LOL.
Composition: very good composition. Maybe on the right is too tight to the bench, and a little bit of free space could help.
Subject: accurate for the challenge.
Technical: you have done a really good job on the PP, achieving a quite interesting photo.
Improvement: I don't really love the BG. The reflection on the door is too distracting IMO. And the white of the jersey is a bit blown out (maybe that's just on my monitor)
Summary: Very good job in meeting the challenge with a photo that maybe without the PP wouldn't be quite interesting.
Ãlex

I suspect it's burning/dodging, but something weird is happening with his left leg, isn't it? An almost escher-like confusion of relative position - look at th trouser and it seems so much more straightened than his right, and yet the foot is apparently touching the pavement at more or les the same distance. |
