I'll go with what ericwoo said below, but mostly I want to comment that this is a very emotional pose. And retreating to the sanctity of your bathroom when your heart's broken seems natural enough. Nice job!

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: Nice focus and excellent depth of field. Self-portraits are always difficult, even when everything is going well. Focus is normally the main challenge, but you overcame that well.

Lighting: You did a pretty good job with the lighting in a tough, indoor situation, but your conversion made it a little flat. There are no harsh shadows and no areas of overexposure. Try to include specific editing steps in your photographer's comments. It helps us out when making suggestions in the critique. I am assuming that you just desaturated the image into grayscale. If you are using Photoshop or elements, try using a Hue/Saturation later, the channel mixer or even LAB color. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM.

Composition/Content: Excellent, and your capture is interesting and creative. The angle you chose for your composition helps the image flow very well to the viewer's eye.

My Opinion: You did a very nice job with both creating a self-portrait and meeting the challenge. With a little more contrast and a slightly better tonal range, this one would have finished even better.

seems a little too staged, too much wall

Great eternal hug and juxtaposed emmotion, big guy small bath cornered by his feelings.cant decide wether a tighter crop would have detracted from the mise en scene? I think it might.

Very nice emotive shot. My first reaction was "Awwww..."

Interesting that you chose the bathtub for this image. I think the photo would benefit from a little levels and contrast work. I also think there is too much negative space on the top and upper left. A different crop might have made the image more dynamic. Good luck. 5

Nice composition. Nice lighting. A little soft, but that works in this instance. Emotive!

He looks forlorn - he crawled off to sleep in the bath...(Norwegian Wood) nicely done!

I really like this picture...it's simple and grabs you but it also leaves you missing something...it's too clean and set up

Semi-Naked man! Ahhhhhhh!

I wish the man was a bit more in focus, or the picture of the couple... the wall seems to be focused a bit more so. Still, great idea.
