Again, David helped me, as it is myself in the picture. "Blowing rings of air", lying on the botton of the pool. Would have been easier with some lead or a heavy stone, especially as the water must be as calm as possible to get good, unbroken rings. Next time I attempt this photo, the one taking the pictures will be lying on the jump board so the picture can be taken from exactly above me.
oh, wow, this picture is awesome! I think the air rings are perfectly in line and the colors are really good too, the only thing is that I wish there were more negative space on the left and bottom sides, other than that, nice work!
Yes, we did a series of shots, especially as David is not so familiar with photography, so in between shots I adjusted shutter speed and more, as the sun came and went. Several challenges in one in this shot:
For one, I have to hold my breath, while using same to blow the rings, and using hands to stay down (but not disturbing water too much!) - at 3 meters I still have some positive buoyancy.
Second, as the first ring hits the surface, the surface obscures, and that is the end of that shot.
Third, some rings are broken, like some of these, but in a lucky shot, the rings can travel all the way to the surface complete smooth (see another picture from the same gallery). They just become thinner and thinner, like a piece of string in the end.
And then, at a semi-public olympic pool, one has to find a time during the day with no other visitors to get calm water, and not too much wind. Luckyly, it gets kinda warm here, so on a weekday right after noon, most tend to stay away from the sun, unless they have to be in it ...
