 Selective de-sat - I know, I'm an absolute hater of the technique - and I remain so. This image, however, doesn't work without it: that stripe becomes either black grey or white depending on how you convert. As a challenge entry, I think the stripe makes the impact; as a photograph ... well, I think it's one I would bin from a personal archive - on the grounds that it doesn't really work without 'cheating' ...

... not just the de-sat, but there's the shadow of another guy saluting behind his legs, that I've cloned out. Boo to me, then.
