Challenge: Framing II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D
Location: Swindon, UK
Date: Jun 8, 2006
Aperture: f4.5
ISO: 640
Shutter: 1/250s
Galleries: Performance, Portraiture
Date Uploaded: Jun 12, 2006

Taken at the County Ground, Swindon where I had my first go in the pit.

I realise that there will be the DNMC crowd but if you care to look at the mic/stand and guitar they are in the foreground and Mr A is indeed framed

Oh, stupid voters. I saw the framing and gave you 7. I think it's a very good shot. Next time make it very obvious.

Good example of framing, microphone and guitar. Obviously, not what the voters expected though.

Well you got really close hereto the subject. The lighting and everthing is good. The picture and is pretty professional in quality. It's difficult to see how it fits into the category though - The microphone begins to do it but I think it's a stretch.

goodness, he's looking old... to be honest, i think this is sitting on the borders as to meeting the challenge or not; i mean, it does, the mic stand and the guitar are clearly the elements of the frame, but i don't think the protrait is necessarily enhanced by the presence of these things. he also looks like a small bloke dwarfed by a microphone. nice as a rock pic though. 6.

I enjoy Bryan Adams and all, but this isn't really framing. Your subject should be far enough back from the framing elements that the blurriness of the foreground enhances the sharpness of the subject.

well, i laughed atleast- if we looked at it completely loosely i might let you slide with the fret board and microphone stand. i am assuming most won't even look at it long enough to give that to you. It's a pretty good photo though

I DON'T SEE A FRAME IN THE FOREGROUND.

...and the framing is where??? This is a very good image, but I fear it is not in keeping with the challenge criteria.

So, the microphone stand and the guitar is the frame? I can see that, I hope others too :P
