A statue of James Irvine II in Irvine Park, Orange, California...

I spent more time shooting this then most entries and had a very tough time sifting this one out from the 160 other shots. It was early morning and I really liked the light... I have a couple that may have done better because they "fill the frame" better, but I think this gives the best view of the monument as the sculptor intended...

I was planning on going to the Nixon presidential library since there are 2 great monuments there, but when they told me I couldn't bring in a tripod, I left in a huff, muttering about the 'damn fascist republicans'...

Nice lighting on the subject, however the lower parts of the statue dont seem to stand out very well from the trees in the background.

Go Jed! Everything is fully in focus, good stuff.

interesting image and the angle from which you shot is interesting, it might stand some cropping left

Wishing it was a little darker and perhaps that the legs of all not so cropped.

I like this (partially because it reminds me of the place where I took my own monument shot). Nice trees and sky, nice composition and great focus. I would like to see the statues' feet not cut off; it's disconcerting not being able to see where they're standing.
