Thanks Sandy,
I was kind of stuck in the middle of nowhere, and I had arranged a two week photoweek with someone, so we went back to the nearest point I could buy a new one, and bought it.
It's not the first camera I've lost in the water, but it's the first one that died on me completely, and Canon estimathed repairing costs to surpass the cost of a new one.

Oh Terje! That makes my heart break even hearing this story. I can't imagine how devastated you must feel! Who hasn't gone just a step or 2 too far to get the shot. . .I am SO SORRY! Soooo now what are you using to get those great shots you get ????

Emotional shot for me, the last shot before I tipped the tripod and toasted the 5D in the water. I had the 5D for about 3 weeks before I killed it. :(
