Would have been a Desolation entry until I got the skelton to use. :)

Love the B&W here and the lines that draw you into the shot...and that dog stands out great being the most powerful white in the image...well done

eschelar, I marked your comment as helpful, but only because there is really no other choices and I didn't want to just leave it not marked since you took the time to comment. But I don't really agree with you. It is as level as it can be because the tracks were curved. I think a degree and a half is really pushing it. :) I think the dog isn't to white but that is just the dog with a bit of brushing to show he is there so far away. There are no grids or anything going on in the back ground. It is all brush back there. There was one tiny sign that I took a small brush to very near the dog but there was nothing else going on there. :) You might see a telephone wire which I didn't clone out?

Thanks for taking the time to comment! I edited to add: I don't know what a healing brush is?

Very nice, very moody.

It feels a bit like it could use a kick about a degree and a half counter clockwise...

The dog seems quite stark against the background, which bothers me a bit... Maybe just a tiny bit less strong in the whites....

Also, there's something very odd going on in the background. It looks like there's been some major cloning work with little help from the healing brush...

Some of it looks like grid lines or something... Hard to place exactly...

I'm sorry. No doggies in my desolation entry goodman. No single trees either. I had one of a single tree but my present entry I feel it still much better so I used my single tree shot to make the "Heavenly Shine" shot instead.

Besides, this doggy doesn't look that desolate. Just the surroundings do. Maybe if he had his head hanging and was full profile I might have used one like that but he never did that. I only have this one and another one of his rear end :) A few others to but they were blurry.

Glad you like it! I like your shots to!

Thank you for the comments!

Don't feel bad. This little doggy wasn't really "left behind". His owner was just beyond the brush. I was driving by the tracks and thought I would take this for the desolation challenge but I ended up with a better and totally different shot for that. :)

The dog was quite a distance away so I used my zoom lense and that is how I got the dof on the foreground tracks. I didn't plan it though. :)

I love the leading line and the DOF is "reversed" with the focus in the background. I like it. ALOT.
