The text on an obelisk near this statue of General Stonewall Jackson reads:
General Barnard Elliott Bee, of South Carolina, Commander, Third Brigade, Army of the Shenandoah, was killed on this spot [at Manassas (First Bull Run)] July 21, 1861. Just before his death, to rally his scattered troops, he gave the command, "Form, form, there stands Jackson like a stone wall; rally behind the Virginians." |

Just thinking of that time in war, it was difficult, and just to see the sunset at the end of the day was what each soldier wanted to see but many never made it and Stonewall had to live with those feelings. Nice shot. Tells a story. Great composition. |

The colors in this shot are fantastic. Stonewall Jackson weems to be watching the sunset. The composition is impeccable. Congratulations! 9. |

I think I would of like the monument either darkened more or less, either silhouetting it altogether or allowing to see some detail. Nice sky though. Just my opinion. |

Excellent lighting, use of shadow, and negative space. Makes me wonder what he's looking at, what he's thinking. My 10 for the challenge. |

Awesome:
* Great profile
* Great colors
* Very good composition. I particularly like it how you got the statue looking towards the sun, creating an invisible leading line. |

Now this is a good capture. Kewl the way you got the guy on the horse staring at the sunset in the distance. The silohuette effect just does it here for me. |

Wonderful color, composition and angle. I think I'd like it better if the entire statue was a silhoutte (you couldnt see details of the mane, etc.) |
