 This was my very first attempt at an exposure of this length, but I had this idea as soon as the challenge was announced. Of course I wanted to do a waterfall - RIGHT?!? HA I mean, c'mon! It's ME!

But I wanted to add a different element to it and I was reminded of Star Trek 9: Insurrection, when Captain Picard experienced a "single perfect moment in time" that was "slowed down to a crawl" by a beautiful and very old Ba'ku woman named Anij. This is my attempt at recreating some semblence of that scenario.

It was NOT easy staying still for 30 seconds - counting to myself to make sure I didn't jump up too soon. And there was only so much time available with the right amount of daylight to take shots, so I was only able to get off a handful before it became too dark.

Anyway, I'm pleased with how it turned out. My PP included quite a bit actually - although most of it was repititious small adjustments to curves & levels. (All "legal" Basic Editing maneuvers.)

Such patience to sit for this. The lighting is perfect and the scene is very well composed. Just the right balance between water and land with your placement. The colors are well preserved and not distorted with the exposure. Reading your description and, I hate to admit it, being familiar with the ST reference you made, this is right in step. Very well done Jimmy! Nice job!

To me the person detracts from the image, adding a blur where the land shows great detail and the water adds a mistiness. A little colour adjustment to bring out the grass and lichen and this would be excellent.

love the waterfall and scene but person is slightly blurred. would have worked better if they were in the same sharp focus as the scene. nice though

I would have skipped the woman and preferred something 'nostalgic' as a foreground. Or maybe even nothing. Background is really perfect!!!!

The waterfall is really lovely...Im guessing that is you in the corner? But it kind of looks like you got in the photo by accident...seems out of place especially since everything in nature is totally crisp and clear, but your shirt and hair are blurry.
