Shipwreck found in Astoria inside the Fort Stevens State Park.

Went with black and white to enhance the desolate feel and mute the details of the ship. I feel it gives it a much stronger presence in the image without the distractions of details since I was going for an overall feeling rather than one specific to the shipwreck itself.

Your horizon is tilted....that should always be fixed before entering in challenges. I feel the shipwreck is too centered.

this is great, i think i would have left a little less sky and more of the reflection at the bottom, very nice choice of subject for the challenge.
thanx for sharing

The choice of subject for the silhouette is good as are the reflections and the sky but the horizon needs straigtening.

Would be even better if the subject was not so centralised;)

Good subject. HOrizon seems a bit skewed. BW is appropriate and i like your title.

i think the choice of b&w for this challenge is best, and this subject works well. I think maybe not so tight a crop so as to allow view of the full reflection would help.

way to be there hwne there is some nice cloud cover. I think if the shipwreck weren't centered it might be an even stronger image. nice silhouette.

I wouldn't have cut off half the ships shadow, it's probably more desolate looking than the sky - and always make sure the horizon is flat, it can be quite distracting to voters.

Would have been even better if not centered.

A great location. Nice sky and reflections. The b/w does imply more of a sorrowful feeling. Might have been a bit better closer up. Not sure without going there, of course.

well this is familiar. the other photo had so much wonderful detail though that is obviously lost in a silhouette. its a shame. 7

Nice silhouette, but the horizon's a bit tilted and it distracts me.

Very lovely tones here! The subject might be better off center, but still a super image. It might also be good to straighten your horizon....
