This was a simple convert using channels. No NI used in this shot. No need as I was shooting in broad daylight ;)

Another beautyful BW conversion. How do you do it?

I love mountain! Again the contrast is perfect!
All the shades of greys are there...and a very good composition! :)

Excellent work here Rikki as usual! Tonal range works really well in black and white. I really like the darker foreground with the shadows as it highlights the mountain range in the background.

Now this is just perfection...don't change anything.

Had a quick look at all six. This one stands out head and shoulders above the rest. Very classical. Good detail. Nice balance between water and the rest. A beautiful broken and rippled reflection. What could be changed? Nothing ... works as is.

I partly agree with the comments about the text. Seems too large for the picture and with the quotes makes it more important than the picture.

Awesome! The image quality looks pretty good even at this size so I imagine this would look great as a large print.

If I have to find something to critize it would be the writing. Personally, I don't like the lower case for "mirror lake" nor the quotes and the font could be heavier. Also the font size seems a bit larger than you'd normally see in this type of framing. Ok, I hate the text treatment. :P But the photo rocks! :)

Love the composition. The viewer is pulled straight through the photo to the little gap at the far side. Great rippled reflection in the water too!

All of these are amazing shots - but I think I like this one the best. Great detail, shades and an overall wonderful balance. I would be interested in seeing a color version of this shot. Phenomenal work Rikki.

Rikki this is stunning... So crisp and clean. I even like the border. Great composition and the B/W works very well. Excellent stuff.

Surely my favorite (of the first six you showed). In this one , the quality is nearly perfect , nice contrast and clearness , great and large tonal range of greys...
It's a very peaceful view , surely a nice place to take deep breath and feel the rythm of mother nature.
Thanks for sharing ! (many of us will never have the possibility to be there)

Very serene looking. These are gorgeous! My only negative comment is that this is a little dark, but that might just be my monitor.
So, when are you going to go pro?

Gorgeous, very Ansel Adams. Beautiful composition, perfect sky; only quibble is what looks like a contrail at upper left, cutting off corner. Lovely otherwise.

this would be perfect without that line in the sky. doesnt look like a cloud to me but one of those lines made behind planes or jets. and of course the thought of technology kills the beautiful nature feel.

this is probably my favorite picture of the group so far. It has a very professional and classic feel to it. I love the water and reflection. Not sure I can give any comments to improve it, but I love it anyways.

your new style seem very professional, these kind of photos are the ones you can hang on you wall or send as a postcard. i like the how the sky fades and the reflection on the water. black and white works well in this image.
