I'm rarely blunt, but I'd like to ask... is that the hopper's penis? Nice DOF.

Nature's tool. Next time try a stick instead of a finger, looks more natural.

Yes, this is an amazing bug shot. Well done macro. Does he have a hidden tool belt somewhere on his body? Or maybe he is holding a tiny hammer in his hand? Sorry, don't mean to be sarcastic, but it amazes me that in all challenges there always are bug shots, no matter what the challenge topic is...

That's a tool!

What is this?

Tools?

See? Anything that helps you (or a BUG) can be a tool! Your subject is refreshing. I like that it's so colorful and unique. I'd like to see it a little more in focus with more emphasis on the tube though. The finger takes over the whole shot.

I really don't see how a bug macro fits the challenge. Tools are really manmade things. The ability to use tools is one of the things that makes us human.

The incisor is the insect's hunting tool?? This stretches the challenge topic even further than I usually do.
