an antique dragon plate that belonged to my grandmother...it is cobalt blue glass on the bottom yet the top is metallic looking, perhaps it is carnival glass with glazed surface..I intentionally used two halogen lights down on plate to give it a glow and shot at a low angle...there are a couple of small blown highlights, but I didn't like the images that resulted when it was placed in a light tent with diffuse light...levels, hue/saturation, curves, usm, cropped.

Dragon and Lotus Carnival Glass! Amethyst? I have a collection and thought of photo'ing it for this but didn't. This is pretty and CG is very hard to shoot. A little more light might have really made this pop, especially back lighting I think.

The patterns are beautiful, it's well shot, but I have to take your word for it that it's glass--it looks like lacquer to me!

That's a gorgeous piece of glass. Well lit - might be nice to have it tilted a bit more toward the camera.

The shadows are a little too dark. I'm wanting to know more about the subject. I like the colors.

Thats a beautiful bowl/plate. you show some beautiful colours too. Soemhow the composition just doesn't work for me. I think this is because there isn't any stand-out focal point to draw the eye in. Still worth a 6 for the tones.
