There are two things I like about this image: (1) the idea of using color to simulate a storm or rough waters, and (2) the blue colors themselves and the way they fill the whole frame. Having said that, I am not a fan of posterizing and other heavy filters. Here it is particularly tough, because the subject is glass which by its nature is transparent. The posterized treatment comes right through the glass and makes the focal point of the picture hard to discern. With glass, less is more IMHO. |

I will be up front and say that most of the figurine type shots just didnt grab my attention in this challenge. I think your shot was too heavily processed. The figurine detail gets lost in the funky tones and textures of the colors in the background. It has a messy feel to it and no real focus. Just distracting in general. I scored a 5 because you did at least try to be creative with your shot where other figurine shots scored less because they were just flat out boring with no creativity. Here you tried but the results were not that good in my eyes. (But I wear glasses so take this opinion for what its worth.) |

Hmmm...I have to say that this one doesn't really do anything for me. At first I thought you suffered badly from JPEG compression, but I see that you used posterize so that effect was intentional. I'm personally not keen on posterize, but thats just me, I don't tend to like shots that look too heavily processed.
One thing that would really have helped would be if the boat was more obviously a boat - even with the title I'm struggling to figure it out. Also, the composition is very centralized, which makes it much more static |

I remember this one from voting - I thought you achieved the goal implied by the title very well. I suspect the majority of voters didn't like the processing and perceived it as "overdone" rather than intentional. I really like the way it fades to dark on the right - sort of "uncharted territory" in that direction! |

Overprocessed with very noticable compression lines. |

intersting subject matter but the background looks terribly contrasty. |

nice different hues of blue in your entry, but it seems to be a bit over-processsed. |

I like the idea you are going for. The glass ship is getting overwhelmed by the strength of the background and so it loses effectiveness. |

A little blown/oversaturated on the left but does give the impression of going from "stormy" to "calm". |

Not sure if it's just my monitor, but I'm seeing a lot of pixelation in this shot. |

What's happened to the bg colours? Is it a filter or bad compression? The composition needs a little more room at the top and less at the bottom for good balance. |
