Thanks for all the helpful comments, especially dahkota's. Even though I used Curves & Sharpening, when I increased curves, then sharpening (by a factor of 10) it really made the picture so much better. Sorry it took so long to post this, my computer modem has been having problems.

A shot that might appear in a catalog for objects like this. The dark part looks almost like a shadow has fallen over it.

The lighting through it is a little harsh and I'd suggest more light on it from above as it seem dark. the composition is ok. the subject is interesting. This photo just needs some minor adjustments.

This image intrigued me. I realy like it. But (don't you hate that?) with a slight curves adjustment to really bring out the color and a slight sharpening to bring out the shapes and pop the color, this would be an "I Love it" shot. Very interesting as is but just a little flat. 7
