What I liked: Great sight. The light is very pleasant and warm
What I didn't like: The pole visually splits the image. Skies aren't red enough to get the correct effect across to the viewer. |

This is a good shot, I like the composition. The only thing I dislike is that the title implies that there should be a red sky, which there is not. |

Should have been a little more red. Maybe increase saturation a little. Very good picture though. 8 |

My grandpa used to tell me this...lovely calming image. |

I think this is a good idea - but it looks like the sky didn't cooperate with you (not very red). Where is the lighthouse? I wanted to shoot a lighthouse lens for the "Glass" challenge, but couldn't find one open to the public anywhere near where I live. |

Not marking you down for this, but it's not really a superstition or urban legend. It's actually a trueism. I like the morning (or evening) shot of the lighthouse. I'm thinking the tree doesn't add anything to the image and should be cropped out. 8 |

Beutiful pic.. skies not really red though >.< |

Looks like a blue sky... Sailors should be safe. Still, very pretty shot. Tree on the right seems a bit unbalanced. Maybe a wider angle, with the tree in full silhouette? |

Pretty.. better if the whole tree was included! |

Even though I really think your morn could be a bit redder, you get an extra point since this is an oft qouted among my family. |

Hello, Cabrillo National Monument! I've missed you!
The shot is nicely done, though I'd have to wish you'd amped some red in there, given the title and all... I like the placement of the flagpole and the bulge of tree. |

I think this qualifies as a superstition instead of a proverb unlike some other entries. Nice subtle colors. We don't need hyperreality every day. Is this Bear? He likes subtle colors, but I haven't seen him do a lighthouse before. I'm not sure I like the tree on the right. 6 |

Its a lovely serene picture my only reservation is, with the saying, perhaps the sky could be a little more red? |

This is a lovely photo but it would have fit the challenge if the skies were actually red |

not much in the way of red skies here and although i think the tree on the right adds some balance to the photo I would like to see more of it. at least part of the trunk. just floating there it seems out of place. |

Great photo, the lighting is great. I like the silohuetted grass in the corner, but the tree looks a bit odd to me sticking on the side like that. Very nice, 9! |

shouldn't the sky be red? |

I like the idea but it could use a little more red, or glowing in the sky. Maybe playing with saturation could help? |

beautiful. however i think it would look nicer if the tree on the right was possibly cropped out. but thats just my opinion. 7. |

Nice photo. Like the suggestion of sea over the horizon line. Sad that the sky is not very red though. |

Sky isn't red enough, looks more orange and yellow. and not much of it. Doesn't sell the image idea to me. |

Nice shot, but not seeing much red. ;~( |

this would definitely have been more compelling if you boosted the saturation of the reds. |
