Taken before my first cup of coffee for the day...
The long lens with a 2X converter put me far enough away so that I wouldn't be overly exposed (GEDDIT? - Haha!) to the cold, myself.
The 1/100 shutter speed was purposely high, in order to obtain an overexposed image which could be adjusted back down, so that the DSLR shadow noise floor wouldn't be a factor to me, especially considering the need to shoot at ISO 1600 in this early morning hour.
The added bonus of course, is that the higher ISO also gave me some nice, controlled grain.
Aperture set at 10, gave me just enough surrounding detail to place the wheelbarrow in perspective, without getting overly busy.
The wheelbarrow is slightly rusted, and so, to bring that out, I increased the contrast in Capture One Pro (I shot in RAW mode - is there any other way to do it???), bumped up the sharpness to bring out detail, and then applied a Saturation mask (Sepia style) in PS, which I overlaid, in order to boost the contrast and rust colouring even more.
Then that all-important first cup! |

Unfortunately, the processing is way too heavy on the subject for my taste here. The grass looks nice, though. |

I think a little less exposure would bring out the photo here, possibly more saturation to make the wheel barrow pop out more. |

The blown highlights in the frost is very effective. |
