 Paint Mines Interpretive Park is a geological oddity in the middle of Nowhere, Colorado out on the plains. It\'s an ancient clay pit exposed by nature to reveal tri-colored clay strata. The local Native American tribes came here to mine clay for their pottery - hence the name of the park. Thousands of years of erosion have left these mushroom-capped towers throughout the park. I swear this is the real-life Land of Oz - all it\'s missing is a yellow brick road and an Emerald City.

The opening suggests that maybe the rocks could move but the cap on the foreground rock is holding it down so it seems even more stationary than most rock formations. 10
