I like the image - the well rounded shape of the "flower", the bokeh for a background, and the off-center position. I would have preferred to have the crop be less severe on the bottom, showing more of the "stem"...but since I don't know what was down there, perhaps you made a wise choice.

I gave this a 6 because by gosh, it wasn't just another flower! I thought it fit for a flower challenge around the 4th of July just fine, but then I'm weird. I kinda like the long horizontal crop, too. I suspect a lot of the scoring is either DNMC related or crop related.

Almost did this for an entry in to the challenge. Decided not to enter. You did do a nice focused capture. I think a bit more of a crop would have made the image more interesting.

A "direct hit" on title & execution! Abstract "whispers" and large negative space greatly enhance the purpose as well as give the effect of Independence Day fireworks low in the sky, especially since I am grading this on July 4th. I suspect the short width may cause some deductions of points which is what I must do to be consistent. (Overall, I would have given a 6, but size turns it into a 5.) :(

Huo Pao. Ah, Chinese. A good interpretation! I would write something in Chinese here but this database field is not unicode enabled as far as I know.
