The really stands out in this challenge. The soft focus in contadiction with the bars. The eyes and mouth looking like the cat is really uncomfortable, wanting to be out...almost annoyed. And behing blackness, no hope. Well done.

What a great expression on his face! Good use of lighting to add to the image, it gives it a lonesome quality. Nice photo!

I'm very impressed that you did this in camera. the dof is perfect to create a truly creepy effect.

8 - Good capture and image. Perhaps the top ear not cut, but very minor and works well as is. Very good 'straight from the camera' shot. Like your title.

You've captured a great expression on the cat. It's too bad it was photographed through the bars of a crate. I just find that distracting. I'm not crazy about the vertical framing---I'd like to see the cat's eyes placed lower down, following the rule of thirds. I'm not usually a stickler for that rule but in this case I feel like the main interest is the cat's eyes but they are sort of compressed at the top of the frame leaving nothing of real interest (to me) in the rest of the frame.

good image with very provocative dof...colors are very soft on this beautiful cat...imagine how fantastic without the cage?
