 No tripod and shallow dof don't work very well specially if you have to be on your toe to reach the flower. took about 40 pictures hoping to get the right focus point.

Congrats on this fine abstract. The shallow DOF works so well because of the warm gradations or oragne and red in the background. Great composition as well.

Superb! My favorite in the challenge. I love the orange and red tones. You did a nice job keeping the little fuzzy guys sharp while letting the rest of the photo blur. :) Adding to my favorites.

this is my favourite from the challenge, from the moment I saw it. The very shallow DoF is stunning and you've managed to focus at the top part. the different orange colors are fantastic.

9 - Oh.. wow. I wish this was bigger. Not sure on the frame so big but... does work well. ... very nice - want to say even more detail on that one stigma, but it is likely there - just the size (restrictions) doesn't do this justice. Color(s) - very nice.

I like everything about this gorgeous abstract except the border. It's overwhelmingly wide. I'd prefer either no border, or a much narrower one. This one seems to intrude upon the pic.
