 I caught these four teeners on a pontoon in Repulse Bay at sunset on the last Saturday before the start of classes.

For the interpretation impaired :)
These kids were maxxing out their free time as school days came near. Xhoss made a good observation that this was taken at sunset, (which happened to be really gorgeous that one Saturday) which symbolized the passing summer. I cropped the picture in such a way that the mountain range in the background looked like a sigmoidal curve on graphing paper. I wanted it to represent the 'learning curve' students would have to go through for the new school year.

And the kids on the pontoon? Well, they're going towards the same destination, but they have unique ways of going through the journey - like the cross section of a real class.

Final note: I do not know any of these people. I simply caught their silhouettes while excercising my 10D on picturesque Repulse Bay.

Great shot - the only thing I could suggest to improve it would be to have removed the green object in front of the dock (if possible). It's a bit distracting from what I think otherwise is a perfect shot with a great subject, background and colors. Good job!

This is a lovely scene, and the picture's quite nice, though the low light definitely shows in the blurring of the diver. There is a jaggy look about the hills that may be compression artifact, but the colors are gorgeous.

What gorgeous colors. It is a big stretch to fit it into the challenge for me though. The green object in the water is distracting. It catches my eye and keeps bringing it back to it.

I'll give it to you...a little stretch on the category IMO...but I'm not too old to remember holding on to those last days before school and going to the beach, etc. to get ready. Now, onto the shot....GREAT shot. The lighting is perfect for the mood that your trying to convey. ( Sun going down I'm assuming is symbolic of the summer going away and school starting ) The composition is there too. Very good shot.

To me this really doesn't fit the challenge, but it's still a nice pic. I like the movement of the one diving off the dock... good composition as well.
