Really? They look sharpened already... and do not convey the subject to me. I like the photo itself, but... |

Trying to leave some more in depth comments on random photos, so here goes...
I like the angle of this shot, and how the pencils are all lined up in the back, but vary in length to put some variety in the front. The diffused lighting also avoided what could have been some really harsh shadows under the tips of the pencils. It's even a clever title to go with the shot. Possible suggestions for improvement might be to shoot this from a bit more to the left so that it is more symmetrical and you can get the whole tip of that last pencil in. The words stand out on those two pencils too, so maybe rotating them so the words were hidden? Good luck in the challenge! |

I'd like to have seen the last pencil on the left there... I keep looking over there and wondering where it's gone... |

Simple, colorful, well composed. Some of the marks on the pencils are distracting from your "colorful" shot. Nice texture on the sharpened ends! Would love to see the colors even brighter. Nice photo. |

Your title makes me want to look at the tips of the pencils to see if it is true. However, the focus varies across the tips and I'm keep searching for where the picture wants me to focus. Also, the compostion is a little out of balance, as the pencil on the left is cropped and the one on the right isn't. |

Yes you do!
The focus could be sharper too. |

I am sure you would disagree or you wouldn't have entered the photo in this challenge, but IMO DNMC. |

Nice idea, with a strong impact. It's a shame that the left most pencil is clipped off the edge of the shot, though. Did you think of trying for some more dramatic lighting? Maybe have the pencils receding into darkness... |
