 While we were lighting off fireworks, there was an incredible lightening show going on behind us. The lightening was flashing around in these clouds every 30 seconds or so for almost 10 minutes. We actually stopped our own fun to watch it for awhile.

Hi Margie, I'm catching up on my CTP2 comments.

This was a difficult challenge in which to stand out. There's only so many views of a fireworks display to be had. Unfortunately, this entry was so different that it no longer truly met the challenge. To top it off, there is a lot of image grain to drag it further down. After seeing so many well done lightning shots in other challenges, this one just kinda sinks to the bottom. If you don't have it already, Neat Image is worth the investment, and stick closer to the spirit of the challenge.

The lighting is interesting, but the picture quality seems kind of poor. Did you crop this really close? you can see some pixelation.

Different take on the "fireworks" theme and it works for me. It looks like there is a loss of resolution somewhere; perhaps you had to crop a lot to get the lightning to fill the frame.

I like the concept of this very much. The lighting in the clouds is super. There are some focus issues which distract me. In proper focus, this would have been a 10. Still giving it a good score.

Nice composition and moment of capture. It's too bad that it is so lacking in image quality, otherwise this would be a top-ten pick.
