funny story here... all week, i've been fretting over what to enter in this challenge. it was saturday morning, and i had entered my second choice until i found something better... a friend and i met at starbucks for a "work" day, and after talking for awhile, we decided to go to barnes and noble to buy a book on web design. we took her car, only it was a rental, as hers was in the shop...

i'm normally not one of those nosey people who look through everyone's car, but since it wasn't really hers, i decided to take a look in all the nooks and crannies of the corolla she was driving...

and what do i find?

two nigerian bills and this swiss "zehn franken" note.

i told my friend it must be a sign that THIS is what i'm supposed to photograph for this challenge, so she let me borrow it. as honest people, we'll return all the bills to the rental car place. :)

i'm sure i'll get dinged for lack of creativity, but i'm sure this was a sign. ;)

oh, this was another one lit by my trusty ikea lamp. i love the ambiance of it!

if we could do more editing:

I cannot fathom why this did not score higher - met the challenge quite well and is really well done! I must get one of those Ikea lamps... I like the edited one as well.

I like your trusty Ikea lamp. I have no idea where I bought my lamp. :)

I like the shot overall. However, I prefer your alternate. I have to ask why you went with the portrait orientation and the tighter crop in your submission, when you changed both in the alternate? Those would've been allowed even under basic editing rules.

nice lighting, would've liked to see the full biljet in focus and the number in a more eye catching place

what I like:
I like the set up, much more interesting than your typical money shot.the lighting works very well.

What I don't like:
I think you could use a bit more depth of field. My eye is drawn to the upper left-hand corner where things are out of focus.

Nice comp and original idea. The texture of the background detract a bit IMO

I like the soft, low key lighting in this. I think the composition is strong and the photography shows confidence and skill. A great entry indeed :)
