This is a great picture, but I'm not to found of the tops of the pilings being at the same level as the stuff in the background horizon.

good decision to line the pilings up with the horizon. they seem to be holding up the sky, which is almost blank but actually has a puffy texture to it. the overall effect is quite surreal and switches visually. sometimes we see the pilings, sometimes they turn into a check pattern with the ground behind them. sometimes the foreground seems to be the subject. sometimes we can glimpse the landscape and forget the pilings are there, but just for a moment. I love this sort of visual epilepsy. 9
