This doorway leads to a local business. After making the photo I used Levels and Curves, then cloned out a couple of distracting items (mirror of a parked car, scratch on a pipe, etc.), converted it to duotone using hues/saturation, adjusted brightness, added NeatImage and USM.

I really like these kinds of images - simple, but seem to quietly hint there's a story to tell (whether there really is or not.) This one is well done. Duotone works well here, and the focus of the image (the 10) is well placed. Technicals are good - focus is crisp. The shadows imply it's about mid-day. If you get the chance (and you're at all interested in doing so) try reshooting this when it's overcast to get rid of the harsh shadow, or better yet, when the shadow might be longer or at a slightly different angle. I offer this suggestion because I'd like to see either more of the door, or less of it, going back to the "story to tell" kind of idea.

Trading Post - I was one of your 7s. I liked the duotone color choice, the angle, the simplicity of the shot and the general detail of the brick wall and iron door. I felt this was just an overall pleasing shot without any extra silly bells and whistles. It worked well. My only comment would be to straighten up the shot so the poles were perpendicular to the pictures edge.

Nicely done. This was a good find. Composition is good. Colors and textures are good. The only off putting aspect of this photo is the shadows under the awnings. I think maybe a different time of day would have helped with that.

awesome photo, love the bright number against the sepia tones, you might try burning the edges a little to bring this photo out even more, 8
