Poole's Mill Bridge in Cumming, Georgia. This is near our new house, and I think that it fits into the challenge well on many different levels.

Very nice perspective! This bridge looks sooo long! I love the name carved into the wood. I wonder if that's the designer or just some kid doing graffiti. The light and shadow seem to play nice together on what looks to have been a very bright day. Great job! |

I really like this kind of "perspective" shot and appreciate the double meaning with the perspective of time. The toning serves you well in that respect. My biggest nit with this is the opening at the other end so far over to the right - my eye wants it a bit closer to the "third" for balance. Nice textures and depth. Good to see you back in the challenges, too! |

The texture and range of tones in this photo, in addition to the obvious perspective displayed, are bonuses for me. The sepia color adds to the notion of the passage of time. It lends a nice historical feel to the image.
I'm not wild about the use of the fisheye lens, but I wouldn't discount it either. For me, the circular hint created by the lens clashes with the long lean lines of the covered bridge. Maybe because I grew up in New England I am a bit too conventional in my response to old covered bridges. This observation is obviously opinion and it's yours that matters in the end.
The detail in the wood is very impressive. And I guess Matt Crowe will forever be memorialized on DPC because of the detail you captured.

Trading Post - Good to see you back - I have been missing your work. Good perspective shot, fisheye works pretty good here as well. I like the color choice and the subjct matter has pretty interesting lines. The detail on the oustide of the bridge seems a bit blown out but I am not sure what you could have done about that. So close to 6 - always rough to be short les sthan a tenth to get up to that next digit. |

Nice use of a wideangle distortion, works well in this image. |

Good use of perspective, the line converge to the exit at the other end. I like the off centered composition, but I think you went a little too far to the right with the exit end. If you kept that opening a tiny bit back to the left you would be able to see more of the criss-cross detail on the right side of the bridge also. That's all pretty much just opinion about the composition, but less opinion is that support on the right edge, it's just sort of sticking into photo like a sore thumb. Good exposure in a tough to expose situation, you captured lots of detail up in those rafters. |
