This image really has an aborigonal flavor to it. The black area on the forehead makes the shape of the face in the image grab your attention, even in the thumbnails. It seems somewhere between body paint and dreamland rock drawings. The one sided composition is also a powerful part of what makes it work, as though she is peering out of a door frame into the room with you. The only distraction is the touch of light in the upper right corner, but maybe you left it to show the hair line there. I enjoy seeing what you have been doing as you have such a unique way of seeing and capturing what you see.
Very creative and great imaging with the B&W and high contrast. I can't understand why it placed so low in the challenge.

First time that I've taken a good look through your portfolio, and you've some stuff to be very proud of. I love this image. Clearly wasn't to everybody's liking during the challenge, but I really like it. The contrast is very strong and the position of the iris is bang on. Well crafted. Will keep an eye on your future submissions.

I don't give a damn about sharpness. I love the way the mask is at a different orientation than the face. This allows me to truly imagine two souls in one place.

You know the cool thing about going outside the box like this, is that it grinds at your mind, and will not let you forget about it. Alot of images here, even the really good ones are forgettable, but this one is not. IMHO, I think you have done a wonderful job, and tackled a sort of supremacy (<---if thats the right word) in stand out photography. GL.
