 Set up studio shot with black acrylic under the pepper, one studio light with a softbox above, and one with an umbrella off to the side. Shot straight down from above. Misted some water on the pepper and Voila!

I've been snacking on bell pepper strips latley as a healthy alternative to chips. I was originally planning on doing a macro shot of the inside of the pepper... they have a really neat cellular structure for storing water. But I figured I'd shoot some shots of the pepper before I sliced it up, and I liked this enough to go with it.

I'm not certain if it will be abstract enough, but we'll see.

Hello from the Critique Club!

This shot makes a great first impression! The rich colors and lighting give this photo the pop it needs to grab a viewer's attention quickly. Also, the dimensions of this shot are not typical, which also helps it stand out from the crowd.

The only thing I can be critical about is how well it meets the challenge. This is a great photo both technically and artistically, but with regards to the challenge, it falls short. However, judging by your score, a lot of the voters forgave this. This is definitely a shot you should be proud of.

Nice image but the "Abstract" aspect is, at least from my perspective, not at the forefront, and this may cost you on your overall score.
