Ok. Taken not on my camera and not with my lens, I used 20d and 60mm MAcro lens. Light sorce is Bowens 500w lamp lit about 1m above, down on the apples in 55°corner faced down. I had problem on the background. Iæm not happy about cloning out part af the backgraound under the red apple, I used a card deck to make the red apple bigger, and there was the problem :D

Nothing more to say and I think this one will be around 5,8ish, maybe this is not enough abstract and there it does not fitt the challenge so I would not be surprised to get lower rate

Howdy and greetings from the Critique Club!

This is a bright, vivid image that is simple and effective in its communication.

I imagine that this would have scored higher if it were more, well, abstract. But outside of that, it's a fine image.

The red apple is well placed in the frame, and you chose the colors well. I can also appreciate your lighting, which adds a bright, cheery glow to everything. The fruit looks appetizing to be sure!

It's an interesting concept to have a screw going into some fruit. To be even more clear, you might try using more familiar or "archetypal" tools, like a screwdriver instead of the bent screwing tool you have here.

The cropping is also good, since it implies that the scene goes on and on.

So nice work and it looks like a fun shot!

Cute photo, well photographed but I don't consider it to be abstract. If you had focused closer on the shapes and colours it would have fit the challenge better.
