Challenge: On the Beach (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Location: Asbury Park, NJ
Date: Jul 16, 2006
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Nature, Animals
Date Uploaded: Jul 16, 2006

Taken at Asbury Park, NJ. I originally went to take pictures of the convention hall and casino but the beach was unusually crowded and packed and I wasn't very happy with my results.

Converted from RAW, white balance, USM, cropped, curves, saved for web.

Post: Thanks for the comments, I agree with all of them. It was somewhat of a rushed shot with high tide coming in and my tripod already in the water but I still should've tried for better composition. Thanks again!

Jon, thanks for your comment on my Beach entry and thoguth I would give you a comment in return. This is a cool shot and well composed. I enjoy the colors in the photograph as well. The things I could think about for improvement would be to maybe have shot at more of angle so thatyou could see the birds and down the levee into to the water, or maybe just keep your camera on the birds and when they start to fly away strat taking photos of them. Who know if any of those suggestions are good but just a thought. Thanks again.

Crop is a little too tight for me, with the loss of the bird in the foreground distracting. Looks a little out of focus (camera shake??) and the central subject cannot compete with the masses on top. The bird at top right squawking is a better main subject.

nice vibrant sky. I wish I could see a tad more of the beach. There's just a hint of it at the bottom...
