Macabre photo executed well. (Not your everyday item found on the beach.) It's the idea that makes this photo...the technical aspects are very good (especially the sea foam)...but the idea is very creative. Congrats on your high finish. |

Trading Post commment
A very intriguing picture. On first glance, I don't like the skull there, but after really looking at it for a bit, it does indeed work, althought I think you could have done this more panoramic even at 640. Have the skull be just a bit less "in your face" - more of a subtle discovery as the picture is explored. Blues of the sky and the water are perfectly done. I especially like the single narrow crested wave in the distance. Well seen, well executed. |

Great job! This photo is full of movement, in the sky and in the waves. I like that. I'm not crazy about the skull, it's just creepy, but part of what makes this come across the way you want. A nicely done photo, although not extremely interesting. Raising my score from a 5 to a 6, because it is above average, and you did meet the challenge without leaving me to figure out how you met the theme... |

This pic tells a story...No a tale. You could do a whole movie stemming from this work. |

The skull looks a bit contrived to be sitting right there. But sure makes it a chilling image. |

the skull is to far from the POF to be effective, and is distracting when looking at the image. |

A slower shutter speed would have been good, giving a misty feel to the water which would have enhanced the skull and the feel of the picture. Otherwise nice shot. |

Nice! The colors sof the sea and stones on the beach match the mysterious feel of the washed up skull. Foam works well too in this theme. |

I think this would be aven better without the skull in it! To me the sea is attractive enough without taking the viewers attention away to the skull. |

Great shot. I hope you do well. The monochromatic treatment of the image inhances the feeling of dread one gets when viewing the skull. Well done. |

My favorite shot of the challenge so far!!! Perfect composition, great colors, and awesome idea. :) The skull on the dark sand looks great against the waves. Well done! :D |

Whoa, sorta' a "Planet of the Apes" feeling to this one! You've got a nice sea, albiet a bit post-stormy looking, but then adding the skull is a shock. Very nice, and out-of-the-box. 9 |

This is a remarkable shot. I can live without the human remains in this otherwise picture of tranquillity. |
