Alright, A lot of very interesting comments on this one. I am always the person saying "who is going to be the Jack a-- that has a naked girl on this competition?" Well... It was me this time. I have been gone for a while and only put this shot in because it was what I had and was excited to enter in a DPC comp.

-Thank everyone for your comments. I will work on better shots for next time.

227th place? Well, the prudes were out in force weren't they?

Seriously, 23 1's? This photo does not deserve that.

The pic above has 2 1's, 9 2's and 28 3's.
The pic below has 2 1's, 15 2's and 22 3's

You have more 1's, 2's and 3's then either of those... (except for the 2's on the lower pic)
The anti-nudity crowd sure helped you to a lower score.

Great job! A very clear shot, nice clarity and movement of the water. Would have been better had she not been so much in the shadow. Raising my original score from a 4 to a 6.

Good attempt at the WOW factor worthy of comment. I like the way her pose mirrors the hill side and the left leg is bent up, although the foot is blown out in the hilites. Well balanced light without blowing out the hills. Hint with nudes: try to avoid clothing lines by having the model wear loose fitting clothing for 1/2 hour before shoot.

seems like this could have been more tasteful, but I am not sure how :/

Lovely model! The exposure is a bit off. The foot is overexposed, while the rest of her is a bit underexposed. I wouldn't have cropped off her hat. Anyhow, it looks like a great place to take pics, and hope to see more in your portfolio.

The mountain and her foot is a little too bright!

horrible

love the mermaid tatoo!

The pose following the curves of the background hills is great and I really like the angle of the hat and look on her face, but the blown highlights on the foot keep trying to pull my eye away and the amputated hand is a little distracting as well. If you had just had her move a bit to get her foot out of the sun and either adjusted your position or zoomed out slightly it would have been almost perfect.

Lovely.

Highlights a bit blow and why not include the whole hat. But who am I to complain.

I know this won't do well, but I dig it :)

Yeah...nudity usually sells on DPC, that being said the model's posture looks awkward with her leg appearing uncomfortable. The lighting seems too soft and flat as well. Also her face and eyes are not in sharp focus and I think that is what really subtracts from this image.
07/20/2006 01:14:57 AM
YEAH!
07/19/2006 11:41:42 PM
The allusion to nudity would've worked better, IMO.

I can't help but like this for some reason ;] ... I wish my dear wife would pose for me in such a beautiful revealing way. My critism is as follows: The foot is a little too posed looking and is blown out so it distracts from the rest of the image. The tatoos are not to my taste simply because it takes away the purity of the subject. Lastly, The hat and shadow above the eye make me want to adjust it for her. This is nearly professional quality but the lighting simply needs to be a little more ... Oh heck, I've said enough. Very nicely done.

wow! you found her at the beach?
07/19/2006 09:41:35 PM
Go back to growing potatoes.

<==== Movin' to Idaho :-)
07/19/2006 04:52:59 PM
I thought nudity wasn't allowed.
07/19/2006 02:56:35 PM
The lighting was a little harsh, but it is a real challenge in that situation with bright backlight.
07/19/2006 11:47:29 AM
Why crop the head off this fine beach find?
07/19/2006 08:33:42 AM
baby
