was 1973 the last year the USA trusted in God? ;-)
If only they would trust in Him today, but that's another story!

I'd like more of the coin to have been in focus |

You added some interest to this for me with the angle from which you approached your subject. I'm not thrilled about the crop; since you have already bled the image off the top & left I wouldn't mind seeing the image less centered and the image cropped as more of a square. With the cropping you have I get the feeling of a shot where the photographer clipped the top of the head of the subject. I'm guessing that such was not your intent. Good idea on the coin. Better than average score for me. |

Any back story on the markings above "In God We Trust"? It appears to be "1960" or "196C" & "1980". This, of course, makes a potential of three dates on the same coin which is a bit confusing, but certainly not your fault!
"In God We Trust" is a great reminder every time I read it in print. However, the fact that it is such an innocuous statement of faith that I am truly amazed when someone is offended by it. When you think about it, every human has a god, even an atheist.
God is truly the highest value in a human heart, and the purpose for which every individual finds meaning & defines a successful life. Most would consider God quite ethereal. However, I would humbly submit that the atheist's god is quite corporeal. (Just a thought!) :) |
