There are no processing artifacts around the petals - thats called DOF.

A major problem is its not gold, similar to a silver statue is not gold.

The processing artifact around the petals was likely a big downer. You need a shot without flaws to score 6.0. Above that it's a combination of taste and "wow" and how the voters saw those two qualities.

I find that the picture is good, but that the focused part (bee) is actually too blurry, leaving nowhere to really focus.

I see some serious lines around your sunflower which looks like from editing? Give your final image a levels adjustment from way too light to way to dark and see if anything shows up before you finish. This is a sweet capture :0)
