Out of focus or not it really does draw you towards the mantis' eye which seems to be watching the camera. The angle is interesting too, always see head on shots and this is different. A little more sharpness would have helped but nice shot all the same. |

Must have messed up in the post processing to have the entire image look a little soft. The original shot had the focus dead on... unless it's just the tiny DOF that people didn't like. Anyway, just thought I'd mention that. |

More contrast in the background would really help the mantis "pop" out a little bit more |
