 I am actually doing a show right now at a local community theatre. Friday night, July 21, was our opening night, and our director gave all the girls a beautiful red rose. I wanted to use it for this challenge.
This is only my third submission, so I'm not sure how it will do, but I really like the picture.

I have been looking around in your portfolio, and find that you have a unique way of seeing things, and that you like macro a lot. This shot is very nice with the choice of background. You seem to have learned to pay attention to the background in your shots, as it was distracting in a lot of your earlier images. It's getting much better as you grow with your camera hobby. This shot is an excellent study in texture and color, and composition.

I agree ... clone out that edge of halo on the top petal and this is one to go on the wall.

This would make an excellent print! I think a black-on-black mat would set it off nicely.

Superb detail in the petals, the BG works well even though logically you'd think it wouldnt and the composition is great, well done :o)

The blurred edge just above the uppermost petal, where the edge looks like a repeat of itself, is distracting.
