I'm not sure how it always happens, I had no idea this was your shot. But, I gave it a 10 (you can see from my comment below). Focus is fantastic. I never realized that the yellow and black is so distinctive - kind of like a wasp "fingerprint." The yellow color is so vibrant - I'm sure you "souped it up" a little in post-processing. Perhaps the only tiny thing that I would change, that you really don't have any control over, is that wasp in the left foreground. I kinda wish I could just see the one that's out, and the one that's sticking his (her?) head out the hole, and that's it. However, there's a lot of personality in this shot.

Maybe should have flipped it to landscape so to give a more "natural" feel to the picture. Great macro, and nice background.

Ooh-er - look scary those! Where were they? Nice capture although DOF is almost too narrow but it just works OK. Good composition.

Nice clear shot with good sharpness where it's sharp, but the lack of sharpness on the antennae of the uppermost wasp spoils it somewhat. Lovely clear colours and exposure. Which camera is this?

Weird how their stinger is sort of shaped like a motorcycle tailpipe. 10.

Too bad the one wasp is obscurring the view from the hole. This makes the other wasp and the subject of the photo difficult to see.

I would be curious how shot would look if it were rotated, not really a critque just curious. nice job.

nice image - they are busy and the motion of that is nicely implied
more focus on his wings and antennae would have been nice
what a wake-up about what 'wasp-waisted' means

Love the clarity in this picture. The only thing keeping me from giving this shot a 10 is that I think I would like a little more depth of field in order to bring more of the main wasp into focus...It's fuzzy antennae are a little distracting...
