This will get blasted for not being physically made of gold, or those who accept gold doesn't necesarilly mean metal will say it is too orangey or too yellow but in my eyes, its pretty damned golden!! and the little label in the ground next to it said "Golden Poppy", I dunno if thats an actual name or just a description. My googling suggested teh "Golden Poppy" was to be found in arid regions of N America, so who knows what it was.

Roadside flowers, Restronguet Point, Cornwall, UK

Very bright sunshine but not much I could do about that!!

200mm focal length, Shutter Priority, -0.3 exposure

Not much photoshoppery, crop, resized, a little selective colour to make it a hint less oragey and boost the green.

nice composition...the flower is great, but quite blurry

With razor sharp focus on the flower and bee, this would have really stood out. I don't mean tiny DOF; I mean both in focus. Unfortunately, since neither is in focus, it comes across as a near-miss macro shot.

Muzzy - Too many macro shots for this comp are soft focus - I feel macro needs to be pin sharp

Nice soft capture.

this is a lovely image, but the focus on the bee is just (noticably) a smidgeon too soft. this is easily rectifiable with a mix of unsharp mask and sharpen edges. given that he's the main point of interest, i thik it would be worth doing. other than that it's really nice - the colours are rich and i feel suitably golden (albeit the flower is a touch orange) and the depth of field / bokeh has a really nice effect overall. 7.
